In the 1970's the Feminist Movement has changed in many ways.  One was the religion part of it.  Some extreme feminists even brought religion in to it.  They called it ''goddess consciousness'' and a ''reawakening.''  Many believed God was a woman.  They drew inspiration from all religions such as Native American, European nature religions (witchcraft), westernized Hinduism, Chinese Taoism, Japanese Shintoism, and Buddhism.  The differences and conflicts in the religions were ignored.  The 1971 Declaration of Feminism states ''All of history must be rewritten in terms of the oppression of women.  We must go back to ancient female religions like witchcraft.''  Many thought that by the year 2000 they would have raised children to believe in human potential, not God.
