Many organizations were made
in the 1970's. One was established by 28 professional women,
including Betty Friedan, called the National Organization for Women (NOW)
in 1966. It was made "to take action to bring American women
into full participation in the mainstream of American Society
now." In the next year 1,000 women joined, and 4 years later
membership reached 15,000. This helped women become increasingly aware of
their limited opportunities and strengthened their resolve to increasingly
aware of them. |
