This topic took place during
1914-1980. Anne Frank was a young Jewish girl living in the time of the
Holocaust. she was a smart thoughtful girl, she loved to read and of course
write. |

Otto Frank served in the German army during WWI as a lieutenant
during 1914-1918. A couple years later he married Edith Frank - Hollander on
May 12, 1925 in Aacen, Germany. A year later Margot was born, 3 years before
Anne, Anne was born on June 12, 1929. |

In 1933, Anne's family moved to Holland, Otto was appointed manager
Director of the Netherlands Opeka Co. its a company that manufactures in
jam. Also in 1933 Hitler's Nazi party was elected in Frankfort for the
Anti-semi measures, they were put in effect immediately

All jews were told they had to wear The Star of David as of May 1942,The Star
of David was a six pointed star. This star was to be worn on the left arm it
was used to separate the Jews from everybody else. Many more Anti-Jew
Decrees followed each other( they had to hand in their bicycles, banned from
trans and trains, forbidden to drive, only allowed to shop between 3-5,
indoors by 8pm, forbidden to go to the movie theater, forbidden to visit
Christians, must go to Jewish schools). |
Anne recieved her first
diary on June 12, 1942, her 13th birthday. She wrote to an imaginary
girl named "Kitty" |

Between the ages 13-14 she wrote many
short stories, fiction, non-fiction stories, and beginning to novels. Anne
had five notebooks full of these interesting stories of the Annex. Her
father was always saying to write down her favorite quotes from other
writers, these were in one of the five notebooks, some of them were William
Shakespeare, johns Gias Worthy, and Johann Wolfgang. |

In one of her notebooks was a photo album with pictures of her family,
mostly taken bye Otto Frank. The last picture taken of Anne was from the
summer of 1942, the summer before the went into hiding. |

By late 1942, if you were walking on the same street as an officer then you
would be arrested just for walking on the street and being a Jew. Anne once
said "Despite everything people are really good at heart" |

On July 5, 1942 Anne's sister Margot received a Notice, this means that she
will have to go to a Nazi work Camp. The next day on July 6, 1942, Otto,
Edith, their two daughters, Mr, and Mrs. Doan and their son Peter, and Mr.
Dassel went into hiding. |

They had four helpers, Mr. Klein,
Miep Gies, Bep Vaskoijland, and Mr. Kugler. The helpers supplied them with
books, food, clothes, news from the outside world and other needed things.

They hid in a space at the back of 203
Prinsengrant, the building was an office place for Otto Frank. they called
it the "Secret Annex". they hid there for 4 years. |

Anne decorated her room with pictures of
film stars and picture postcards. |
