While in hiding Anne wrote her diary about her
thoughts, feelings, and what went on in the Annex. She loved her
stories so much she decided to copy them into a notebook. On
September 2, 1943 she started to copy them into a notebook, she
added a table of contents to make it resemble a published book, and
hoped one day it would be one, she would call it the "Secrets of the
Annex" On April 17, 1944 Anne started her 3rd and last diary.

Anne was so afraid of being shot and being discovered and
hated the fact that they had to stay inside all the time and not being able
to do fun activities with friends. |
|
Anne made her last diary entry on August 1, 1944. She had
many loose pages from May to the day of her arrest on August4, 1944 at
10:00am by the Dutch police. |
|
They were sent to Westerbork Transit Camp on August 8,
1944 in the northern pat of the Netherlands. The stayed there till they were
sent to Auschwitz Camp in German occupied Poland. Just two months after Anne
and Margot were sent to Bergen-Belson Camp in Germany. |
|
Just weeks before the camp was liberated Anne and her sister Margot die of
Typhus |
|
When the Franks were
gone the remaining helpers went to clean up the damaged. One of the helpers,
Miep Gies found Anne's diary and loose pages. When it was final that was not
coming back, Miep gave Otto the only survivor from the Annex the loose pages
and the diary. |
|
Just three years Anne's diary was published, it
was translated into more than 55 different languages. It is the most
widely read books all around the world. Many movies and documentaries
have been made. |

I think that Anne had a good life, even
though she only lived 15 years. Taking them away from their loved ones and
being told what to do and what not do, that is so wrong. |
