Current News About the Hunley
For 136 years, the Hunley remained forgotton at the bottom of the sea floor.  Historians wondered why she sank, but no one was for sure until the wreck was discovered in May 1995 off of Sullivan's Island, by Clive Cussler helped by the people from the NUMA, National Underwater Marine Agency.
During the transport to the laboratory the Hunley was kept wet by saltwater sprinklers.
