How did the Vietnam War  start?  How did it end?

It all started out in the late 1950's and ended in 1975.

The leader Ho Chi Minh lead the Democratic Republic of Vietnam from 1945-1969.  a brief summary of his life during this strategic war.  He was born in Nguyen  Sinh Cung.  In his town he was known as "Uncle Ho," he lived in England and France from 1915 to 1923.
In 1919, "Uncle Ho" petitioned for the powers at Versailles peace talks for the equal rights in Indochina.  Of course with a busy life he moved to Hong Kong where he kept a busy life there and found the Indochinese Communist party.  Then he moved and returned to Vietnam in 1941 and then declared the nations independence from France.  It all ended and then "Uncle Ho" died in 1969.

In 1975, North Vietnamese troops and tanks set fire and converged on Saigon.  In January 1973, President Richard Nixon from the White House convinced the Thieu-Ky regime in Saiegon that they would not abandon the GVN if they signed onto the peace accord.

The U.S. sent out media critism of the war and the antiwar activism in America as under the will of the U.S. government to continue fighting, others citied the restrictions placed by civilian politicians on the military's operations or, conversly, blamed by U.S. military chiefs for not providing civilian leaders with sound stragety for a great victory at war.

In December 1961, President Kennedy sent a team to Vietnam to report on conditions in the south and to asses future.

Then Nixon expanded air and ground operations into Cambodia and Laos in attempts to block enemy supply routes along  Vietnams borders.

The Vietnam War brought an end to the domestic consensus that had sustained the U.S. cold war policies since the World War II and that they formed the basis  for the federal governments authority since the sweeping expansion of that authority under Franklin D. Roosevelt.

The tremendous enemy of offensive at the lunar new year decimated the Viet Cong and failed to topple  the Saigon government  but led to the beginning of Americas military withdrawal from Vietnam.

Richard Nixon's program of troop pull-outs, stepped up bombing and huge arms shipments to Saigon changed the war and left GLS wondering which of them would be the last to die in Vietnam.

South Vietnamese leaders belived that America would never let them go down to defeat a belief that died as North Vietnamese tanks smashed into Saigon on April 30th, 1975, and the long war endedwith South Vietnams surrender.

This is a poem to this girls dad during the war:

Do you know how i feel ashamed

For what you did to me in vain

Do you know i do not place blame

For i feel I too, tortured you

Do you know i feel sorry for you

For what life has thrown at you

Do you know why i ran to you

Even after all the pain you put me through

Not to stop the bullet from reaching you

I ran so it would pierce me too

Do you know why i continue to write to you

Even though your long past gone

Why its because when you raped me

You became a part of me

God help me but it's true

I take comfort in writing to you
