Environmental Protection Agency |

The Environmental Protection Agency began in July of 1970. The White
House and Congress established it in response to the growing demand for
cleaner water, air and land
The EPA's Mission Statement: "Protect human health and to safeguard the natural environment (air, water, and land) upon which life depends.

Kent State Massacre May 4, 1970 Students walked outside to protest Nixon's decision to bomb Cambodia that expanded the Vietnam War. Governor James Rhodes sent in the National Guard. The units were ill-trained and came straight from riot duty elsewhere and therefore were very exhausted. Four students died that day. Watergate Scandal |

On the night of June 17, 1972, five burglars broke into the offices of the
Democratic National Committee of the Watergate office complex in
Washington, DC. Investigation into the case resulted in the
resignation of President Nixon's resignation. Here is Nixon's letter of
