Boys’ hair ranged from rainbow, mohawk to long and layered.   They slightly teased their hair.  Frizzy with bangs was cool and curly was even cooler.

Girls had vivid makeup, light pink lips and glitter.   Mascara was extremely popular as well as blue eye shadow and beauty moles.

Guys went punk and had a lot of piercings.   Ray Bans and glasses were the thing.

Girls wore off-shoulder shirts, ¾ sleeves, croptops and primary colors.   Sweaters were pink and worn on the waist.   Neon colors were “in”.   Matching scrunched socks was the way to go.   Thick belts, long T-shirts and miniskirts were a rave.  The tighter the mini, the better.   Spandex became a huge sensation.   Colored hose with rips was popular.   Exercise gear, ¾  length legging and leg warmers were seen everywhere.   Tight stonewashed jeans and zippered legs were cool.

Guys wore rock hand t-shirts that were black and neon.   Leather and jean jackets were totally “in”.   Rolled sleeves or sleeveless shirts were cool.   Pastels and bright colors were what they wore.   Ocean Pacific t-shirts were popular as well as tight leather pants with chains on them.   Spandex likewise, was a sensation.   Corduroy  pants, Jammers, parachute pants and tight stonewashed jeans were the rave.

Popular brands for girls were Ocean Pacific, Banana Republic, Reebok, L.A. Gear, Liz Claiborn, Keds, Esprit and Gap.   For guys, Jordache, Guess, Kaepa, Izod, Ralph Lauren, Vans and Adidas were the way to go.

1980’s shoes consisted of flats, low heels and muted colors.   Simplicity and classic styles were wanted.   And sneakers were the newest desire.
