Einsatzgruppen discussing the plan for killing the Jews.

The Einsatzgruppen was put together after Kristallknacht                                                                           when alot of people especially Nazis destroyed the Jewish stores.  The Nazis even burned down a synagogues that night.

The Einsatzgruppen were special mobile Scutzstaffel (SS) formations whose job was to murder the Jews.  The killing was done in large groups. The Einsatzgruppen had four main groups, Einsatzgruppen A, Einsatzgruppen B Einsatzgruppen C, and Einsatzgruppen D.  Einsatzgruppen A killed Jews from the Baltic Sea to Leingrad, and was commanded by Dr. Franz Walter Stahlecker.  Einsatzgruppen B killed Jews from Yelorussia to Moscow, and was commanded by Arthur Nebe.  Einsatzgruppen C-D killed Jews from the Ukraine  to Caucasus.  Einsatzgruppen C was commanded by Dr. Otto Rasch  and Einsatzgruppen D was commanded by Dr. Otto Ohlenford.  Members of the Einsatzgruppen were from SS, SD, and SiPo.

The Einsatzgruppen were first seen in Austria in 1938.

The Einsatzgruppen came directly to the Jews houses and killed them.  Shooting was the most common way of killing they used.  They made 200 executions a day. Without regards for age after they were killed the Jews were buried in mass graves.  Erich Vondem Bach Zelewski sees Himmler kill a Jew and says ,"such men are finished for their of our lives!  What kind of men are we creating?  Either neurotics or brutes." They killed at least 1.3 million Jews, because leaders would not let it be a slow process.
