The beginning of the Kristallnacht was on November 7, 1938, where Hershel Grynszpan shot and killed Ernst vom Roth. the actual Kristallnacht occurred two nights later on November 9 and November 10. Aldof Hitler was the leader o f the German Nazis, also an enemy of the Jewish religion. | |
Orders from Joseph Goebbles, Hitler's chief propaganda officer. These orders were approved by Hitler. German troopers an some small young gangs burned and destroyed 101 synagogues and 7,500 Jewish businesses were destroyed. Over 26,000 Jews were arrested. Some 91 of the Jews gave their lives. | |
After Kristallnacht 100,000 Jews fled from Germany. Kristallnacht can mean two things. One is the "Night of Broken Glass." The other meaning "Crystal Night." Because, on that night many shop and home windows were shattered. Jews were arrested and sent to camps; dozens of others were killed. A fire fighter wrote in a journal found, " I can't put the fire out. If I do , other people would beat me up. Just like my friend. | |

Their was a meeting held on November 12, Georing called the meeting of the top Nazi leadership to asses the damage done during the night and place responsibility for it. The intent of this meeting was to make the Jews responsible the actions of the Kristallnacht and to use the events preceding days as a rational for promulgating a series of anti-Semitic laws witch would in affect, remove Jews from the German economy. |

Some Jews decided to go to Poland. Shortly after words Hitler planned an invasion of Poland. Over the next two or three months the following measures were put into place: 1. Jews were required to turn over all precious metals to the government. 2.pensions for Jews dismissed from civil service jobs were arbitrarily reduced. 3.Jewish-owned bonds, stacks, jewelry and art work can be alienated only to the German state. 4. Jews were physically segregated within German towns. 5.A band on the Jewish ownership of carrier pigeons. 6.The suspension of Jewish drivers license. 7.The confiscation of Jewish owned radios. 8.A curfew to keep Jews off the streets in the summer between. 9:00P.M. and 8:00P.M. and 6:00A.M in the winter. 9.Laws protecting tenants were made no applicable to Jewish tenants. | |

One final not one the November 12 meeting is of critical importance. In the meeting Georing announces, "I have received a letter written on the fearer's orders requesting that the Jewish question be now, once and for all, coordinated ands solved one way or another." The path to the "Final Solution" has now been chosen, and all the bureaucratic mechanisms for its implementation were now in place. |
