The holocaust is something that will never be forgotten.  We will always be reminded of it whenever people talk about it, or we see a monument.  Even though  prisoners were killed, and captured, death camps were a major part of the holocaust. Death camp meaning work until death, starved, or gassed Treblinka being one of the biggest, and most productive  death camps.
Treblinka's structure being 1312m wide, and 1968m long resembling Sobibor. It had rail road tracks running in, and out to resemble a rail road station, to make prisoners think they were getting transported to a different country.
In the camp there was an reception area were the camp guards greeted the prisoners. After they were greeted they were told that they were at a transit camp, were they were going to be transported to a different camp, or kept there. While that was going on others were going through various procedures to be disinfected, and cleaned. Also others were put in certain lines one straight for the gas chamber. The other for forced labor. The line for the gas chamber usually consisted of old folks, women, children, and babies.
The three gas chambers usually being able to hold up to 450-500 people, powered by German diesel engines. To lead the prisoners into the gas chambers, they mounted shower heads to make the Jews in. They also used them to feed gas in. Another way to kill them was to burn them. An incinerator was located about 10m away from the gas chambers. The incinerator had a shape of about 20m long 1m deep. Rails that extended across the top were used to lay bodies on, and burn. A series of furnaces were aligned along the rails to burn the bodies. About 1000 bodies were burned simultaneously. After the procedure some bodies were still alive, and suffering from severe burns.
Prisoners escaping from the camp, or the train was a very hard, and time consuming process. Hundreds tried few but,  made it. Many died from impact when jumping off the train, or were shot. Others were caught by train guards, and were handed over to local police.
Escaping from the camp was highly unlikely.  Some tried, but did not succeed. Those who did succeed usually dugout of the camp premises. Once they tried over running the camp they did not succeed. Those who escaped were usually caught, lost, or killed. They were most normally shot on sight.
The SS also invented new ways to kill. Some pushed Jews off roof tops with umbrellas some stabbed Nazis in the back with knives. Others sewn peoples trousers up after throwing rats inside. Babies were either thrown directly inside garbage pits or were ripped in half by they're legs. With in twenty or thirty minutes they were all dead. To camouflage the screams the SS kept a gaggle of geese, when times got bad they let them loose.     The first transports included 10000 from Austria and Germany. 6000 from Thereisident, and thousands from Slovakia.
Eight out of ten gas chambers were used to gas people with a chemical called Zyklon B. The other two were fixed with huge German engines to gas people with carbon monoxide. In 1943 the engine chambers couldn't take the enormous amount of people, and the quit using them.
Now after the more efficient chambers were in use they quit using the smaller ones. From May to the end of June 100000 jews were killed. In 1943 870000 jews were killed. Being in Treblinka could be the worst thing that could happen to you
Being in Treblinka could be the worst thing that could happen to you. For those who were in the death camp be lucky you're alive. We will never forget.
