DEATH CAMPS

Nazis and their allies built ten thousand camps in Europe. Six million Jews were targeted to die in these camps. In January 1942 the Nazis decided to murder all Jews in Europe. Many people such as Jews and prisoners were worked to death at concentration camps.

When concentration camps did open at first they weren’t big at all. At first Auschwitz had to test gasses. After that, an order was given to send Jews there. The Fascist partners forced people to build local concentration camps. Many camps in Europe were labor camps. Later on slave labors had to build death camps. Gas cambers and crematories were designed at Chelmno, Auschwitz, and Treblinka to kill ten million people fast and dispose of the remains.

In the time of the Holocaust people died for being deaf, and thousands were forcibly sterilized. Shortly after March 1933 Hitler made prison camps, with electrified fences all the way around the camps. People were shot if the got caught walking towards it. On March 1 gas chambers began operations. On March 17 killings begun at a death camp in Belzec, Poland.

Birkenau (Auschwitz 2) was the largest of the Nazi death camps, 250 Poles and six hundred Soviets were the first people to be gassed at Auschwitz. Jews were gassed in sealed vans when Chelmno opened. 30,000 Jews on the Kristallnacht night were sent to concentration camps. The T-4 was a program that was about killing of children. They were sent to one of six killing centers that were disguised. The children were put into rooms were they taught they were going to get a bath, and then were killed by carbon monoxide. After words, they were dead they burned the bodies, and told the parents that they had to burn them to stop diseases from spreading. Some victim’s brains were removed to study.

For Himmler Zyklon B was faster to kill then carbon monoxide. People who deny the Holocaust say that fumes can’t kill people coming from a diesel engine, but of course, in a closed camber, they did kill people.

Belzec, when it became a extermination facility in March 1942, used carbon monoxide first then, later on used Zyklon B. When Jews marched into Belzec the guards told them it was a transit camp then they were sent to gas cambers. In 1942 7,800 Jews from Drogobych, died in the gas cambers in Belzec. Almost 30,000 Jews from Poland were sent to Belzec from March 17-April 14, 1942. The Nazis just in Poland killed 3.5 million Jews and ten thousand other people. A death camp in Belzec killed 600,000 Jews from Poland in 1942

In 1943 a order was given that all Italian Jews be sent to a camp. Inmates at Mauthausen had to build a camp called “Russian camp”. In March 1942 Belzec was sent 15,000 new Jews from Ukraine. Almost 60,000 Slovakians Jews were sent to death camps between March and October 1942. On April 3,1942 Augsburg, Germany Jews were sent to the Belzec death camp. At Auschwitz- Birkenau woman were selected to be experiments. In May 1942 a inmate at Schwenningen was buried to his shoulders for having diarrhea, later he died.

549 out of 1019 Westerbork prisoners that arrived to Auschwitz on September 1944 were sent to gas cambers immediately. On September 29, 1944 Nazis killed in woods, because Soviet forces came to the camp. When the Red Army went to Auschwitz they found 85 inmates alive. In 1942 a crematorium and gas camber were installed at the Dachau, Germany camp. In January 1942 almost all Jews in Odessa, Ukraine were sent to concentration camps. In 1942 5,000 Gypsies were killed by being gassed in vans, later German and Ukrainain workers pulled out the gold teeth and fillings from the corpses mouths. On February 19, 1942 people had to watch a Jewish woman be killed at the Dvinsk, Latvia concentration camp, because she was trading with a non-Jewish inmate.

In May 1942 10,000 or more Jews were sent from Lodz Ghetto to Chelmno. On May 9, 1942 Markuszow Jews Shlomo Godwasser, Mordechai Kirghenloaum, and Yoakow and Yerucham Gothelf escaped into near woods. Dachau was the first concentration camp; it was fit for 5,000 people.

1,200 inmates were in Dachau on May 1933. 31,591 prisoners that were registered were dead according to reports of the International Tracing Service in Arolson. At Dachau Nazi had ovens that would cremate one body at a time then, later on they could fit more bodies in the ovens. At Dachau they tricked the people into thinking they were in a shower room, then kill them with Zyklon B.

3,166 prisoners were sent to Hartheim Castle in Linz, when they got to Hartheim Castle they were killed in the gas cambers made for the handicapped and retarded. Dachau had a gas camber made for the camp in 1943, but they never used it. Dr. Sigmurd Rascher a participant in so-called “medical experiments” was shot in the back of the head in the Dachau “bunker”. He was sent there when American forces were closing in on Buchen wald, Rascher.

Zyklon B was used to kill masses of Jews at Auschwitz-Birkenau in January1942. In May 1942 the Sobibor extermination camp was operational. They used carbon monoxide for their three gas cambers then, later on used Zyklon B. Oswiecim in Poland was a new concentration camp in January 25, 1940. Auschwitz did the first test of Zykon B on September 3, 1941. Vans drove to burial places were they used the vans carbon monoxide gases to kill Jews.

Auschwitz had to open up a second gas camber, because of the news Jews arriving. Drancy Internment camp was sent 12,887 Jews from Paris on July 16-17, 1942. On July19, 1942 Operation Reinhard, deportations of Poland Jews to extermination camps by Himmler. The Warsaw Ghetto people were sent to new extermination camps on July 22, 1942. On the same day Belgian Jews were sent to Auschwitz. When Treblinka opened it had two buildings that had ten gas cambers, for 200 hundred people each. The Treblinka camp used carbon monoxide to kill people, and burned bodies in open pits.

Auschwitz had to dig up bodies from the ground, and burn them to prevent fouling of ground water. On October 5, 1942 all Jews in Germany concentration camps were sent to Majanek and Auschwitz. 600,000 estimated Jews were killed at Belzec. SS Einsatzgruppen killed One million Jews. Gypsies were ordered arrested and sent to extermination camps by Nazis on January 29, 1943 Auschwitz was sent Jews that worked at Berlin. Chelmno had a total of 300,000 people that were killed there.

Auschwitz built new gas cambers/crematory 4, 2, 5, and 3 between March 22, 1943-June 25, 1943. When the gas camber/crematory 3 opened it had four new crematories that could hold 4,756 bodies daily. On August 2, 1943 Nazis hunted down two hundred Jews that escaped from Treblinka. Treblinka had a estimated 870,000 deaths after the exterminations ceased. Over 1,000 Rome Jews were sent to Auschwitz in 1943. When 50 out of 300 people escaped from Sobibor, all traces of the camp were removed.

106 castration operations were preformed at Auschwitz. 5,200people were sent from Athens to Rome in 1944. When Rudolf Hoss went to Auschwitz he was ordered to oversee the extermination of Hungarian Jews. When the Hungarian Jews were gassed there was an estimated 100,000 dead SS collected 88 pounds of gold and white mental from the people that were dead at Auschwitz. Over 9,000 people was the highest daily number for burning and gassing at Auschwitz.

Raoul Wallenberg saved nearly 33,000 Jews in Budapest, Hungry in July 1944. At Majdanek they killed over 360,000 people before it was liberated. 60,000 Jews were the last out of the Jewish ghetto to be sent to Auschwitz. 2,000 Jews that were transported to Auschwitz were gassed on October 28, 1944. Two days after that Auschwitz shut down their gas cambers. 80,000 Jews were saved by Soviets in 1945. When Soviet troops stopped Auschwitz an estimated 2,000,000 and 1,500,000 Jews were murdered. British freed 33,000 people from Bergen-Belsen in 1945.

Josef Mengele did experiments with people at Auschwitz. He did weird experiments. He particularly liked to make perfect Aryan babies. He died when he had a stroke in the water and drowned. SS tried to remove all evidence of Auschwitz of the atrocities committed there when they saw the war was near an end.
