Reich Chancellor was the founder and the leader of the Nazi Party, guiding spirit of the Third Reich from 1933-1945.

Then along came Adolf Hitler, he was born in Braunau am Inn Austria on April 20, 1889.  Hitler then joined the Sixteen Bavarian Infantry Regiment serving as a dispatch runner, because war broke out in August of 1914 after he left Linz to go to his home in Vienna.

 

On September 16, 1919 Hitler then joined the German Worker’s Party, which then changed its name to the National Socialist German Worker’s Party (NSDAP).

 

Soon after Hitler joined the Party, he found a symbol for the Party called the “swastika.”

 

The march of 1920 the German Worker’s Party Changed its name again to the Nazi Party.  The leader of the Party Adolf Hitler was then arrested in 1924.Hitler and nine other defendants had to go to court and they were found guilty, but they were sentenced to the lightest possible punishments.

 

While Hitler was in prison he wrote a book called “Mein Kampf,” that later became the bible of the Nazis.  The bible was later translated into eleven languages.

 

Alfred Rosenberg was in charge of the Nazi Party while Hitler was in prison and could not keep the group from dividing.

 

When Hitler was released from prison he had to rebuild the Nazi Party into an organization that would take power legally.

 

Then the Nazi Party took control of every life in Germany.  Then they set up a secret police called the “Gestapo” and was used to spy on people at all times.

 

Political parties were banned and the leaders of Communist and Socialist Parties were arrested and put into Concentration camps.

 

Then a people’s court was set up to try cases of treason, which included almost anything, and it was secret.

 

By 1925and1928 108,000 members had joined the Party. Their ages were between twenty and forty.

 

The Nazi Party won twelve seats in the 1928 elections.  The Great Depression had devastating effects on the middle classes and helped Hitler to win over German Society who felt threatened.

 

Then in the 1930 elections the nazi vote jumped to 810,000 to 6,409,000 and also received 107 seats in the Reichstag.

 

Hitler ran for Presidency and received 13,418,011 votes in the April 10,1931 elections as against 19,359,650 votes for Von Hindenburg.

 

On February 27,1933 the Nazis burn Reichstag building to create crisis atmosphere.  February 28, Emergency power granted to Hitler because of the fire.

 

July 14,1933 Nazi party is declared the only legal party in Germany.

 

September 29, 1933 Nazis prohibit Jews from owning land.

 

In November of 1933 Nazis pass a law against dangerous criminals such as beggars, homeless, alcoholics, and the unemployment to be sent to concentration camps.

 

August 2, 1934 the German President dies so Hitler becomes Fuhrer. Seventeen days later they vote for having new powers and Adolf Hitler receives 90% of them.

 

May 21, 1935 there were no more Jews serving in the military and the Nazis passed a law on women to prevent them from passing hereditary diseases around.

 

The same year Adolf Hitler abandoned the Versailles Treaty and build up the army by conscripting five time its permitted number.

 

Then in November the Nazis fine the Jews one billion marks for the damages related to Kristallnacht.

 

Hitler implemented the final Solution that was under consideration since 1939.

 

Hitler was giving a speech on January 30,1939 called the “Reichstag Speech” and threatened the Jews.

 

In February the Nazis forced Jews to hand over any or all silver and gold items.

 

Then in March the Nazi troops seize Czechoslovakia, so then in April Slovakia passes its own Nuremberg Laws.

 

July of 1944 as disaster came closer Hitler hid himself in the Fuhrer bunker in Berlin, and then in April he married his mistress Eva Braun, and dictated his final political testament.

 

The following day (April 13) Hitler committed suicide by shooting himself through the mouth/throat with a pistol.
